Honor c02 p02

Yes, Sindal does know how to drain magic with the arcane torrent and all that jazz but I felt this sounded logical. (As pointed to in the previous page.) Everyone can have a low day from time to time.

This is a really monotone page. Almost nothing happens. I guess I could've done the layout differently but then I would've had to redo all the subsequent pages I've already fleshed out and that'd annoy me even more. Let's just say this is a sorry excuse study in subtle expression changes.

I do like the third panel though. I know the feeling that evokes that face.

I dubbed the area of ruined Silvermoon Falconwing Gardens as a nod to Falconwing Square. I felt it needed a collective name to fall under for story purposes. It looks very green after all, especially compared to the eastern half of the city.

Attention to details and continuity
While drawing page 1 of this chapter I noticed, in my thumbnailed pages, that further inland, I'd given the trees back their leaves. Since I hate making bare trees, I let it remain that way but instead added an explanation/Sindal noticing the difference in this page to not break continuity.

Likewise, I know that I started out with capital text, like most comics have. At some point, I forgot to change the lines of one page and then Dath'Remar came along. The font I chose to mark the difference in speech between Sindal and the Highborne is horrible when done in capitals, so I let the mistake remain and continued with normal text instead. I may go back some day and change the font to something that works in capitals for continuity's sake, but not now. I will, however, at some point change all font to Comic Sans/Sindal's font and let her mentally remark upon the fact that she's taken on their pronunciation and vocabulary (as some/most persons are wont to do when living in another place with the same language but different dialect*). I don't know if I'll switch back to capital font by the time that change occures but I doubt it.

*At least I do. In my native tongue, it's automatic. With a foreign language, I have to make a conscious effort before it comes on its own.
